This exhibition displays a selection of works from the Bauhaus School's first printed portfolio, which was released in 1922 and has been in the DMA’s collection for over 20 years. When this revolutionary school first opened in 1919, the printing workshop was the first fully operational department, run by the artist Lyonel Feininger. In 1921, the workshop announced its first printed portfolio project: “The many who do not yet know about the work of the Bauhaus, and who cannot know, are to be made aware of us through this work.”
