Word-of-Mouth Phenomenon
Diana Gabaldon has over 25 million books in print in 23 languages and over 236,000 Facebook fans (and growing!), and her fiction is a word-of-mouth phenomenon. This six-time New York Times–bestselling author weaves a compelling tapestry of history, spirituality, love and honor, time travel, sex, and warfare into her books. She is well known for The Lord John series, and her beloved Outlander series has been hailed as “historical fiction with a Moebius twist.” It begins in the Scottish Highlands in 1945, when Claire, a married combat nurse, mysteriously disappears back in time to 1743; she is thrown into a world where her life is threatened. When forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited and Claire is torn between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.
At this event, Gabaldon will discuss the highly anticipated eighth book, Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, which will be released June 10 in conjunction with the premiere of Outlander: A Starz Original Series. Set in June 1778 in Revolutionary Philadelphia, Jamie Fraser makes a dramatic return to Claire. The adventure carries the reader through betrayal and redemption, death and danger, and the perilous waves of a family’s loves and loyalties.
Gabaldon holds three science degrees and has also written numerous comic-book strips for Walt Disney.
All tickets include one copy of Written in My Own Heart's Blood by Diana Gabaldon.
