Japanese artists Ushio and Noriko Shinohara met in 1972, when Noriko, then a 19-year-old art student, arrived in the United States and Ushio was gaining notoriety for his “boxing paintings.” Forty years later, the pair is still together and still creating art, although the journey has been rough at times. Filmmaker Zachary Heinzerling offers an emotionally intense look into the sometimes volatile balance between two talented but combative personalities.

In Japanese and English with English subtitles.
