Text
Before there was Colin Firth, Oscar-winner Laurence Olivier took on the role of Mr. Darcy in this 1940s adaption of Jane Austen’s most famous novel. Pride and Prejudice tells the story of the Bennet sisters, whose lives change at the arrival of rich and eligible Mr. Bingley and his status-conscious friend, Mr. Darcy, in their neighborhood. While the eldest Bennet daughter, Jane, catches the eye of dashing Mr. Bingley, Elizabeth, the second-eldest, repeatedly clashes with Mr. Darcy, as the sisters navigate the society of the landed gentry of the British Regency.
