Please join us for a lecture by Philippe de Montebello, The Multiple Lives of Works of Art, on the occasion of the Edith O’Donnell Institute of Art History’s second anniversary. Mr. de Montebello served from 1977 to 2008 as the director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. On his retirement, he was both the longest-serving director in the museum’s history, and the second longest-serving director of any major art museum in the world. In 2009, he became the first Fiske Kimball Professor in the History and Culture of Museums at New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts. Mr. de Montebello also serves as co-host of NYC-ARTS, a weekly program highlighting current New York City exhibitions and cultural institutions and profiling relevant contributors to the arts.
