From the 1930s to the 1950s, in a period known as the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, the Mexican film industry produced some of its most celebrated and iconic films. Join director and film historian Sonia Fritz for a look at this era of filmmaking and how these beloved films address issues of gender and identity. After her talk, there will be a 3:30 p.m. screening of the film noir classic Distinto Amanecer (1943).
