DALLAS, TX – February 13, 2017– Today the Dallas Museum of Art announced the addition of two bestselling authors to its already impressive 26th anniversary season of the Museum’s literary and performing arts series. Christina Baker Kline, author of the New York Times bestselling book Orphan Train, will be at the DMA on Monday, April 3, to discuss her new novel A Piece of the World. Chelsea Clinton, Vice Chair of the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation and bestselling author, will join the DMA’s 2016 Arts & Letters Live season on Sunday, April 23, and will share insights from her popular book It's Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going!

Kline’s newest novel, A Piece of the World, blends fact and fiction, delivering an evocative story about the mysterious muse who captured the imagination of Andrew Wyeth, one of America’s greatest modern artists and painter of the DMA’s That Gentleman. Born on her family’s remote farm in a small coastal town in Maine and debilitated by a progressive illness, Christina Olsen seemed destined for a quiet, anonymous life. Defying all odds, Christina forges a close bond with Andrew Wyeth, serving as his muse for Christina’s World, one of the best-known American paintings of the 20th century. A Piece of the World is a story about the burdens and blessings of family history, and the enduring relationship between an artist and his muse.

Clinton’s It’s Your World combines facts, charts, photographs and stories to give readers a deep understanding of the world around them and how anyone can make a difference. Geared to readers aged ten through adults, It’s Your World features stories about children and teens whose efforts to help have made real changes big and small—in their families and their communities, in our country, and across the world. This book will inspire and empower readers of all ages to do their part to make our world a better place. It’s Your World addresses many challenging issues prevalent in our modern world, including poverty, global warming, obesity, gender inequality and cancer. Clinton breaks it all down with statistics, adding some historical context and possible solutions, both on a governmental level as well as the things individuals can do to make a difference. She illustrates that anyone is capable of making a positive impact on the world through small, everyday actions. With suggestions and ideas, Chelsea Clinton shows readers that the world belongs to every single one of us, and every one of us counts.

Tickets are on sale now for DMA Members and will go on sale to the public on February 15; tickets are $40 with discounts for students and DMA Members.
