DALLAS, TX – February 13, 2017– Today the Dallas Museum of Art announced the addition of two bestselling authors to its already impressive 26th anniversary season of the Museum’s literary and performing arts series. Christina Baker Kline, author of the New York Times bestselling book Orphan Train, will be at the DMA on Monday, April 3, to discuss her new novel A Piece of the World. Chelsea Clinton, Vice Chair of the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation and bestselling author, will join the DMA’s 2016 Arts & Letters Live season on Sunday, April 23, and will share insights from her popular book It's Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going!
Kline’s newest novel, A Piece of the World, blends fact and fiction, delivering an evocative story about the mysterious muse who captured the imagination of Andrew Wyeth, one of America’s greatest modern artists and painter of the DMA’s That Gentleman. Born on her family’s remote farm in a small coastal town in Maine and debilitated by a progressive illness, Christina Olsen seemed destined for a quiet, anonymous life. Defying all odds, Christina forges a close bond with Andrew Wyeth, serving as his muse for Christina’s World, one of the best-known American paintings of the 20th century. A Piece of the World is a story about the burdens and blessings of family history, and the enduring relationship between an artist and his muse.
