In our chaotic and increasingly complex world, pure happiness can seem unattainable, like a fantasy. Yet, "bliss" is defined as "pure happiness" and is the experience that we all desire and will always seek. At present we are conditioned to believe that pleasures of the senses are happiness. In truth, these pleasures are a kind of substitute for the purest form of happiness that lies within us. In the art of Tantra, we see images of Buddhas that radiate an aura of benevolence, light, and peace. This is the visual expression of a pure bliss that can be attained by all.

Buddhist Monk Gen Kelsang Menla will offer a special talk and meditation on the art and practice of Buddhist Tantra, which is a method of meditation that leads to deep levels of bliss and peace. He will explain how it enables us to transform the experience of pleasure into a purer form of happiness within, the pure bliss of Tantra.

Gen Menla has been ordained as a Kadampa Buddhist monk for over 20 years and has worked and taught within the New Kadampa Tradition for many years. He has studied under the great Buddhist Master Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for nearly 25 years and has been the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Texas since 2017. He brings a warm heart, practical approach, and joyful attitude to sharing Buddha’s teachings and the practice of meditation.
