Toddler Tuesdays: Welcome to the Jungle

Toddler Tuesdays programming is specifically designed for children ages five and under, but all ages are welcome! This March, pack your bug spray and binoculars as we discover the sights and sounds of the rainforest! Create your own slithering spiral snake, search for elusive animals on our family tour, watch an Aztec dance performance, and more, all inspired by our newly reinstalled Indigenous American Art galleries.

Drop in and create your own slithering snake using paper, paint, and googly eyes.

rainforest rangers play stations
11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., Founders Room
Explore the layers of the rainforest at one of our play stations. Play a rainforest animal matching game, squish together play dough and natural materials, replicate sounds of the rainforest using instruments, and more!

dance performance with Mitotiliztli Yaoyollohtli
11:30 a.m.–noon, Horchow Auditorium
Watch a stunning and energetic performance by a family of danzantes from Mitotiliztli Yaoyollohtli Aztec dance company. Admire the traditional art form from afar or join the dance circle and learn simple danza steps!

Wild Things family tour
12:15–12:45 p.m., Meet at the Guest Services Desk
It's raining, it's pouring, the jaguars are roaring! Search for fluttering butterflies, squawking parrots, and more on this interactive tour of the Museum's collection led by Education staff. Tours will be offered in English and Spanish.
