Join Dr. Mark A. Castro, curator of Between Wonder and Seduction, for a look at the vibrant life of the painter Abraham Ángel. One of Mexico’s first known queer artists, Ángel created just 24 works before his tragic death at the age of 19, yet with them he cemented his status as one of the leading figures in modern Mexican art. Drawing on the artist’s biography, Castro contextualizes Ángel’s paintings in the rapidly changing culture of Mexico City in the 1920s.
