Late Night at the Museum

We’re turning the lights down and the volume up, bringing you an elevated take on the beloved Late Night at the DMA series you remember. Join us for five Late Nights packed with live music, curated cocktails and bites available for purchase, and the interactive art experiences you love.

Your ticket includes access to the ENTIRE Museum—four floors and more than 5,000 years of art waiting to be explored.

Step into the Late Night Lounge—an exclusive new VIP experience designed for those who want to savor Late Night at the Museum in style. Tucked away from the evening’s lively energy, this intimate retreat offers a curated escape with gourmet bites, appetizers, and petite desserts complemented by a selection of lush wines. Complete with access to private tours and art experiences, the Late Night Lounge transforms an already memorable evening into something truly unforgettable. 

Your $125 ticket not only grants you entry to the event ($25 for nonmembers) and the Late Night Lounge, but also covers access to the DMA’s underground parking garage ($25), a gift with purchase from the DMA Store (while supplies last), and a DMA Cafe voucher that you can use at any service bar in the Museum. As always, DMA Members get early and discounted access to tickets. Tickets to the Late Night Lounge are limited, so don’t miss your chance to be a part of this experience!

Join us to explore our current special exhibitions Rhythms on Repeat, Hale A. Woodruff’s Amistad Paintings, 100 Ways to Love, and Radical Clay: Contemporary Women Artists from Japan. You'll also enjoy live music, artist demonstrations, and hands-on art making.  

Live performances take place throughout the night in the Concourse, Hamon Atrium, and galleries.

Pop-Up Art Spot
7:00–9:00 p.m., Level 3 Landing
Take inspiration from the exhibition Paradise on Earth: Florals in Indian Textiles and use mixed-media materials to create a bookmark featuring floral and geometric motifs.
All materials provided; activity available until supplies last.

100 Ways to Love Trivia Game
7:00–9:00 p.m., Concourse
Name That Tune, anyone? Stop by our table in the Concourse and pick up a trivia card based upon the Sonia Boyce mural 100 Ways to Love, which features 100 songs with the word “love” in their titles. Answer the questions about the songs in the mural correctly and win a prize! 

Arts & Craft After Dark 
7:00–10:00 p.m., Hamon Atrium 
After you purchase a “craft” cocktail at the DMA Cafe, join in and make some art!

NEW! Art History 101: A Crash Course
8:00 and 9:00 p.m., C3 Theater
Join your friendly neighborhood art historian for a 30-minute Crash Course. Learn about an artist, art movement, time period, or technique, and then go out into the Museum to see the artwork for yourself. 
Seating is limited. Doors open 15 minutes prior to program start time.
Note: Drinks are not allowed in the Center for Creative Connections.

The Artist's Studio
8:00, 9:00, and 10:00 p.m. sessions, Center for Creative Connections, Art Studio II
Join us in Art Studio II in our newly reopened Center for Creative Connections (C3) for an artist-led figure drawing class. 
Sessions are offered throughout the night on a first-come, first-served basis. Note: Drinks are not allowed in the Center for Creative Connections.

Creativity Challenge
8:00–9:00 p.m., Center for Creative Connections, Art Studio I
You’ll have a selection of unexpected materials but only a limited amount of time in this Iron Chef– or Chopped-style challenge. This month, repurpose records into tuneful timepieces as you and your team create clocks from vinyl albums. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative design, and all teams keep their creations or have the option to display them in the DMA's new makerspace, the Art Lab. No experience is necessary!
All materials provided; limited to 20 teams of up to two people each. Sign up is available near the Guest Services Desk at the Main Entrance as soon as the doors open.

Sketching in the Galleries 
8:30 and 9:30 p.m., American Art Galleries, Level 4 Landing
Take a seat and sketch an iconic artwork that has come to life in the American Art galleries. 
Both sessions offered on a first-come, first-served basis. All supplies are available for you to create your own masterpiece!
