December
17 Freddie Jones Jazz Group
Freddie Jones is a popular DFW-based jazz trumpet player and composer who can kick up the energy of a room by several notches. He has taken his trumpet and his group on the road throughout the Southwest, performing in hot spots from Austin’s The Elephant Room to Little Rock's Riverfront Auditorium to numerous festivals in the DFW area, Oklahoma City, and elsewhere. His band, the Freddie Jones Jazz Group, never fails to pull in the audience and deliver an exciting sound.
Jazz in the Atrium Announcement
With the exciting new additions to the DMA’s north entrance and the programming opportunities it will present, the Museum’s Jazz in the Atrium series will not return in 2016. The final concert will take place on Thursday, December 17, featuring the Freddie Jones Jazz Group.
The DMA will continue to remain open on Thursday evenings until 9:00 p.m. with free general admission, offering visitors a chance to explore the Museum’s collection galleries, and most of its special exhibitions and programs. We will continue to schedule talks on selected Thursdays.
