C3 Artistic Encounter: Playful Metal with James Thurman

Even in the 21st Century, everyone still needs a good bookmark, don’t they?  This workshop will begin with a visit to the Museum’s Victorian silver collection as inspiration for playful exploration of basic metal texturing and forming techniques.  These techniques will be used to personalize functional metal bookmarks.  Participants will be encouraged to create their own imagery based on their experiences with reading: favorite books, favorite places to read,  favorite characters, favorite authors. C3 Tech Lab, 1:30-3:30 p.m. Click here to register, $8 for general public, $5 for DMA Friends
