Meet at the DMA Partners Desk.
Join Fran Baas, the DMA’s Associate Conservator, and Kevin W. Tucker, The Margot B. Perot Senior Curator of Decorative Arts and Design, for an exclusive look at the conservation taking place on the DMA’s newly acquired Wittgenstein Silver Cabinet designed by Carl Otto Czeschka and made by the Wiener Werkstätte (Vienna Workshops).
An unparalleled masterpiece of early 20th-century design, the cabinet was purchased by Viennese tycoon Karl Wittgenstein in 1908 and is made of solid silver encrusted with enamel, pearls, opal, and other gemstones. Acquired from a private collection, the cabinet will be the focus of a special DMA exhibition and international symposium this November.
A reservation is required and space is extremely limited.
