DMA Partners in the Decorative Arts and Design Custom Option are invited to a special workshop with local artist James Thurman focused on From the Village to Vogue: The Modernist Jewelry of Art Smith.
Included in the exhibition are a variety of unfinished pieces, which will be the focus of the workshop. Participants will be able to select a metal reproduction of one of the unfinished pieces and finish it in their own way. Everyone will shape the metal with tools similar to those used by Art Smith and make their own version of what he might have made. All supplies will be provided.
From the Village to Vogue: The Modernist Jewelry of Art Smith will be on view in Focus Gallery II through December 27, 2014.
A reservation is required and space is extremely limited.
