Marcus Samuelsson has been captivating food lovers with his brilliant culinary interpretations for two decades, dazzling diners and critics alike. Born in Ethiopia, raised in Sweden, and trained in European kitchens, he is a world citizen turned American success story. Not only was Samuelsson the youngest chef ever to receive three stars from the New York Times, he is also a five-time recipient of the James Beard Award and was selected as the chef for the Obama Administration’s first state dinner.

His acclaimed restaurants include Red Rooster Harlem, Ginny’s Supper Club, and American Table Café and Bar at Lincoln Center. Samuelsson was crowned champion of the television shows Top Chef Masters and Chopped All Stars; he currently serves as a mentor on ABC’s The Taste and stars in FYI’s The Feed. Most recently, he announced that he is co-producing Harlem Eat Up!, a food and culture festival coming to Harlem in May 2015.

In his newest cookbook, Marcus Off Duty, he shares recipes for multicultural dishes he cooks for those nearest and dearest to him. He is also the author of the New York Times bestselling memoir Yes, Chef, Aquavit, and The Soul of a New Cuisine.
