The already successful season continues with 10 more engagements, filled to the brim with bestselling and award-winning authors, actors, acclaimed photographers, and journalists, many of whom DMA Arts & Letters Live will welcome for the first time to the longstanding series. Widely acknowledged as a major contribution to Dallas’s cultural life, DMA Arts & Letters Live has featured more than 1,000 authors, actors, and performing artists at numerous sold-out events since its inception in 1992. The fall lineup includes several connections with the DMA’s collection and features pre-event tours of related art and subject matter. The noteworthy fall season includes Dan Rather; Dan Brown; Annie Leibovitz, with the DMA Arts & Letters Live event being one of only four stops worldwide; and Ken Follett in one of only three U.S. events.

From September to November 2017, DMA Arts & Letters Live at the Dallas Museum of Art will feature award-winning and bestselling authors as well as a performance from Teatro Dallas. The fall season kicks off on September 14 with international bestselling author Ken Follett discussing his new novel A Column of Fire, a continuation of The Pillars of the Earth and World Without End. Set during one of the most tumultuous times in history, A Column of Fire is one of Follett’s most exciting and ambitious works yet. Dan Brown’s engagement on October 6, marks his first time to speak at DMA Arts & Letters Live. The international bestselling author of The Da Vinci Code and Inferno will discuss his new novel Origin, writing chart-topping works, and making blockbuster movies, as well as his trademark interests in codes, science, religion, and art. Roz Chast returns to DMA Arts & Letters Live on October 11 to discuss her new graphic memoir, Going Into Town: A Love Letter to New York.

University Professor of History at Tulane, CEO of the Aspen Institute, and bestselling biographer Walter Isaacson will discuss Leonardo da Vinci, an engrossing portrayal of the world’s most creative genius on October 26. In an exclusive Dallas event on November 14, Annie Leibovitz will present a selection of defining works from her newly published Annie Leibovitz: Portraits 2005–2016 (Phaidon). Krys Boyd, host and managing editor of Think on KERA, will moderate a conversation with venerated television journalist Dan Rather on November 16. Rather will discuss What Unites Us, a collection of wholly original essays that celebrates shared values and what matters most in our great country. Daniel Mendelsohn, an internationally best-selling author of seven books and an award-winning critic and essayist, will take to the DMA Arts & Letters Live stage on November 29.
