State of the Arts: Graeme Jenkins and John Coyne

Graeme Jenkins; Music Director, Dallas Opera
Graeme Jenkins has served as the Dallas Opera’s Music Director since 1994. He has conducted more than fifty productions in Dallas and over 160 operatic productions in the U.S. and abroad, including Così fan tutte for the English National Opera and Baz Luhrmann’s La bohème with the Australian Opera, among others. He holds degrees from Cambridge University and the Royal College of Music, where he was named the Adrian Boult Conducting Scholar. Jenkins has served as the chief guest conductor for Germany’s Cologne Opera and Music Director of the Glyndebourne Touring Company.
 
John Coyne; Scenic Designer, Director of Design, Theatre Projects
John Coyne’s design work has been seen most recently in the Dallas Theater Center’s production of Henry IV. His past work for the DTC includes scenic design for Pride and Prejudice, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Of Mice and Men, among many others. Coyne’s theater and opera design work has been seen at venues across the country, such as the San Francisco Opera, the New York City Opera, and The Globe Theatre. John Coyne is the Director of Design for Theatre Projects Consultants and was a key collaborator on the design of the Wyly Theatre. He is also on the faculty of the Design Department for the Yale School of Drama.
