Dallas, TX – July 6, 2022 – The Dallas Museum of Art today announced the appointment of Stacey Lizotte as The Allen and Kelli Questrom Center for Creative Connections Education Director. An innovative, collaborative and community minded leader, Stacey has been with the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) for eighteen years and is responsible for some of the Museum’s most beloved programs and events.

She has most recently served as the DMA League Director of Adult Programs. In this role, she oversees the nationally recognized and award-winning program Late Nights and the museum’s literary and performing art series, Arts & Letters Live. She also works with the Adult Programs staff on developing and implementing the over 200 events and public programs each year, including lectures, gallery talks, concerts, partner programs and other special events.

In 2018, Stacey oversaw the launch of the Pride Block Party as part of the DMA Late Night series, collaborating with partners in the Dallas Arts District and the DFW LGBTQ+ community to welcome over 30,000 visitors to the Arts District to date. She also launched the popular Museum Murder Mystery: An Artful Game of Clue event that has sold out each year since it started in 2011. In addition, Stacey has spearheaded a multitude of special events and programs to celebrate the rich cultures featured in our diverse collection including the DMA’s Islamic Art Festival, Free Family Days for México 1900–1950 and Celebrate Africa!

“Stacey epitomizes the forward-thinking leadership the DMA needs to ensure we best serve our community both now and, in the future,” says Dr. Agustín Arteaga, the DMA’s Eugene McDermott Director. “We are so happy to welcome Stacey into this new role where her leadership will help ensure that equity and community are at the core of all we do.”

Grounded in Stacey’s impressive tenure at the DMA, she is a sought after thought leader for museums nationwide. She frequently works with groups such as the National Art Education Association and the American Alliance of Museums to educate museum professionals on innovative programming from launch to sustaining participation with a focus on social relevance and contemporary ideas and issues. Stacey holds a Master of Arts in Art Education with Museum Certification and Teacher Certification from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography with a minor in Printmaking and Education from Syracuse University.

“I am honored and thrilled to continue to serve in this new role,” said Stacey Lizotte. “I look forward to empowering even more members of our community to feel, connect and be moved by creativity from every corner of the world here at the DMA through our amazing Education programs.”
