Presented by The Dallas Way
LGBTQ+ designers have always shaped the world of high fashion, and The Dallas Way is celebrating their creativity! Join dress historians Annette Becker and Kendel Bolton to explore the careers of Dallas-based dressmaker Lilli Wolff, kings of camp Patrick Kelly and Todd Oldham, and Dallas-based drag artist Richard Curtin.
Annette Becker serves as Director of the Texas Fashion Collection, an archive of nearly 20,000 historic and designer garments and accessories housed at the University of North Texas College of Visual Arts and Design. Becker holds an MA in Art History from UNT, where she is currently a doctoral candidate in History.
Kendel Bolton is a former Curatorial Research Fellow with the Robert and Penny Fox Historic Costume Collection at Drexel University and Graduate Curatorial & Development Intern at the Texas Fashion Collection. Bolton holds an MS from Drexel University and currently serves as adjunct faculty in the fashion design program at Dallas College.
