Dallas, TX—December 14, 2023—Furthering its commitment to serve its community through free and accessible art experiences, the DMA is proud to kick off 2024 with FREE First Sundays: Access for All. This new offering will expand the Museum’s free general admission to include all ticketed exhibitions on the first Sunday of each month through the end of 2026. FREE First Sundays is made possible by the Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program, a transformative three-year funding initiative that aims to increase access to museums across America and foster engagement with local audiences.
“Providing access to art for all is an essential tenet of our institution,” said Eugene McDermott Director Agustín Arteaga. “We are grateful to the Art Bridges Foundation for helping us expand upon our free general admission offerings to extend a welcoming hand to each and every corner of our community.”
During the first installment of FREE First Sundays: Access for All on January 7, 2024, Museum-goers will have the opportunity to experience Abraham Ángel: Between Wonder and Seduction, Afro-Atlantic Histories and He Said/She Said: Contemporary Women Artists Interject, typically a $40 value, at no cost, in addition to over 5,000 years of stunning permanent collection works by artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Salvador Dalí and Jaune Quick-to-See Smith. The DMA will offer a suite of engaging programs to expand on guests’ experiences with the artworks on view during each month’s installment. Guests can reflect on their own creativity and harness their inner artist with Open Studio art-making activities or deepen their understanding of art with docent-led tours, while families and young art-lovers can explore the Museum with family guides and scavenger hunts!
No ticket reservations are required for FREE First Sundays: Access for All. Guests can learn more and plan their visit at dma.org.
