Join Noah Simblist, Associate Professor and Chair of the Division of Art at SMU for a conversation with artist Yael Bartana. Bartana is known for her films, photographs and installations dealing with issues surrounding national and cultural identities and the concepts of homeland and belonging.

On May 14 and May 16, as part of the SOLUNA festival, Yael Bartana will screen her work Inferno followed by a performance of Leonard Bernstein’s Symphony No. 3: Kaddish by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Tickets to these screenings and performances are still available

Yael Bartana’s Inferno refers to the recent reconstruction of Solomon’s Temple in Sao Paulo. Using powerful cinematic language, Inferno collapses Middle Eastern history with a surreal present unfolding halfway around the world.
