Our panel will share what makes an effective artistic partnership—whether you’re looking for a mentor to help navigate the art world or you have experience that could help someone just starting their creative journey. Matt Winn, Founder of Independent Recording Arts Society
Matt Winn, a native of Dallas, is a multifaceted creative entrepreneur, audio engineer, and producer. He is best known for his exceptional work with independent artists through his youth-focused nonprofit organization and artist development firm, the Independent Recording Arts Society (IRAS). Since its inception in 2013, IRAS has been committed to helping underserved young creatives in Dallas by providing them with essential tools, resources, guidance, and knowledge to develop their talents and skills into successful independent artists and brands. To date, Winn's organization has positively impacted over 250 local artists, including established names like Post Malone, Devy Stonez, and Yung Nation. In addition to supporting the local music community, IRAS has also hosted hundreds of workshops and shows, forging partnerships with reputable companies such as LiveNation and FUGA. Winn's vision and dedication to empowering young artists have made him a respected figure in the music industry, and his work continues to inspire and uplift aspiring creatives in Dallas and beyond.
Paulina Dosal-Terminel
Paulina Dosal-Terminel was born in Mexico City and has resided in Texas for the past 25 years. After graduating with a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin, she began a career in museum education, which influenced her interest in a community-engaged, multimedia practice. She has worked in arts administration at the Indigenous Cultures Institute in San Marcos, and at the Mexic-Arte Museum in Austin and the Dallas Museum of Art. In those roles, she has created large-scale specialized programming for diverse audiences and executed interpretive installations from conception to completion as part of exhibitions. She currently serves as Program Director for Artstillery, a multidisciplinary arts and social justice organization that uplifts marginalized voices through original immersive productions and accessible performance space. She is in the process of completing her MA/MBA in Arts Management and Leadership at Southern Methodist University
Alexandra Pickens
Alexandra Pickens, widely recognized as XELA in the creative sphere, embarked on her musical journey from a young age, acquiring sheet music proficiency and picking up multiple instruments before graduating Naaman Forest High School in Garland, Texas. Continuing her pursuit of excellence, she attended the University of Houston and the Art Institute of Dallas, presently concluding her studies at Mediatech Institute.
As the visionary founder and co-owner of SupaSonics, an esteemed recording studio and audio production company driven by female leadership, XELA serves as the in-house producer and audio engineer. Since its inception in 2019, SupaSonics has become a haven for creativity, supporting over 200 artists in the DFW area. Under XELA's guidance, the studio has played a pivotal role in the crafting and release of more than 300 records and projects, extending its influence to post-production for visual content, audio engineering for live events, creative direction for music videos, and organizing vibrant parties and networking events for the local creative community.
The impact of SupaSonics extends beyond the studio walls, with their work gracing national and international iTunes and Spotify charts, featuring in World Cup ad campaigns, resonating across prominent festival stages nationwide, and garnering recognition from reputable publications like the Dallas Morning News.
As XELA approaches the culmination of her academic journey at Mediatech Institute, her indelible mark on the music and creative industry continues to thrive, reflecting a passion for excellence and commitment to fostering artistic endeavors.
