Location: McFarlin Auditorium, Southern Methodist University

Back by popular demand, David Sedaris, one of America’s preeminent humor writers, returns to share his trademark sardonic wit and incisive social critiques. The great skill with which he slices through cultural euphemisms and political correctness proves that Sedaris is a master of satire and one of the most observant writers addressing the human condition today. At this event, he will read new and unpublished material, answer questions from the audience, and sign books.

Sedaris is beloved for his personal essays, which regularly appear in the New Yorker, and his original radio pieces, which can often be heard on the public radio show This American Life. His many bestselling books include the “sublimely funny” (The Atlantic) Happy-Go-Lucky, Carnival of Snackery, Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls, and Pretty Ugly, his first book for children.

He and his sister Amy Sedaris have collaborated under the name “The Talent Family” to write several plays that have been produced at La Mama, Lincoln Center, and The Drama Department in New York City.
