Platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated jazz singer Stacey Kent joins Arts & Letters Live for a musical performance that showcases songs from Kazuo Ishiguro's book The Summer We Crossed Europe in the Rain: Lyrics for Stacey Kent. Ishiguro, the Nobel Prize–winning author of Klara and the Sun and Never Let Me Go, wrote this gorgeously illustrated volume specifically for Kent, featuring lyrics that are infused with a sense of yearning, melancholy, love, and the romance of travel and liminal spaces.

With musical accompaniment by acclaimed saxophonist Jim Tomlinson, who set the lyrics to music, and jazz pianist Art Harihara, this event will present an exquisite coming together of the literary and musical worlds. Further exploring the notion of collaboration and interpretation, the program will also feature illustrations from the book by acclaimed Italian artist Bianca Bagnarelli, whose work perfectly captures the atmosphere and sensibility of the songs.

TICKET PRICES: Public $50, DMA Member/Educator: $40, Student: $20
