Boshell Lecture: Mummies Unwrapped

Like time capsules, mummies and related burial objects reveal rich details about people and ways of life in different times and places. Dr. Anne Bromberg, The Ida and Cecil Green Curator of Ancient and Asian Art, and Dr. Kimberly Jones, The Ellen and Harry S. Parker III Assistant Curator of the Arts of the Americas, will discuss mummification traditions in ancient Egypt, the Andes, and China through burial objects from the DMA's collection. Unwrap the history of human mummifications and what mummies can tell us about the past.
