Go behind the scenes of the acclaimed PBS Masterpiece series Victoria with creator/producer/screenwriter Daisy Goodwin; Season 2 premieres on January 14th. This popular drama about the woman who would define an era was inspired by Goodwin's national bestselling novel of the same name. Based upon Queen Victoria's diaries, Goodwin's story brings the young, diminutive queen to life. From Victoria's decision to drop her first name, Alexandrina, to marrying her first cousin Prince Albert, the eighteen-year-old monarch tests the limits of her power. Goodwin's story of the stubborn teen turned queen overnight is impeccably researched, vividly imagined, and captivatingly written.

Goodwin is the author of the New York Times bestsellers The American Heiress and The Fortune Hunter, also set in the Victorian era. Goodwin began reading Queen Victoria's diaries as a Harkness Fellow at Cambridge University. She discovered that Victoria "was not the boot-faced old bag with a bonnet [that Goodwin] had imagined," igniting her interest in the period. After studying history at Cambridge, Goodwin attended Columbia film school and spent ten years at the BBC before working on independent productions.

"Victoria is an absolutely captivating novel of youth, love, and the often painful transition from immaturity to adulthood. Daisy Goodwin breathes new life into Victoria's story, and does so with sensitivity, verve, and wit." —Amanda Foreman, bestselling author of The Duchess
