Getting dressed in the morning can be both a repetitive, banal act and a radical expression of individuality. The three editors of the New York Times bestseller Women in Clothes surveyed more than 600 women of all nationalities, professions, religions, and age. They will have a spirited conversation about what fashion choices symbolize and reflect about our lives. Notable women featured in the collage-like tome include Lena Dunham, Miranda July, Roxane Gay, and Molly Ringwald. Fashion designer Lela Rose will share insights into her creative process and discuss artists who have inspired her designs.

Sheila Heti is a regular contributor to the London Review of Books, and her critically acclaimed book How Should a Person Be? was named a Best Book of the Year by the New York Times Book Review and Salon. Leanne Shapton is an illustrator, author, and publisher and has written five books, including Swimming Studies, which won a 2012 National Book Critics Circle Award. Designer Lela Rose is widely recognized for her unique aesthetic of juxtaposing refined elegance with modern whimsy. Raised in Dallas, she graduated from Parsons School of Design. The Lela Rose ready-to-wear, bridal, and bridesmaids labels are sold nationwide, including at the flagship boutique at Highland Park Village.
