Niki Gulley
Following her childhood in Glenview, Illinois, Gulley relocated to Dallas to pursue a degree in art at Southern Methodist University. After graduation, Gulley entered the world of advertising, working as art director for a Dallas magazine. For the past 20 years, Gulley has worked as a full-time artist.
Gulley has traveled the globe in search of inspiration, and often paints sketches on location to create larger works back home. With her husband and photographer Scott Williams, she has combined her mutual experience as a traveler with her passion for teaching to conduct painting and photography Art Treks both in Europe and the US for the past decade.
Similar to the French Impressionists, Gulley seeks to capture the beauty and mysteries of our landscape, utilizing vivid color palettes to convey a particular mood. Gulley invites you to reconnect with nature and escape day-to-day responsibilities in these creations, leaving you with a sense of joy, hope, and serenity.
Gulley has participated in juried exhibitions at the Dallas Museum of Art and various museums around Texas. She is represented by galleries from coast to coast, including in New York City, Palm Beach, Vail, and San Diego. Besides exhibiting in competitive international shows, her award-winning paintings have also been collected by several corporations, including Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Northstar Bank of Texas, and Prime Lending. She has taught workshops at the Dallas Arboretum, the Lakewood Arts Academy, and various art organizations and galleries, and privately out of her studio. She was a guest lecturer at SMU in Taos and a guest panelist for SMU in Dallas. Gulley is a member of the prestigious Pastel Society of America and Oil Painters of America Society.
