Cave of Forgotten Dreams follows a small film crew as they take a rare opportunity to explore the Chauvet Cave in southern France, home of some of the oldest paintings made by mankind. Dating back to the Paleolithic era, about 30,000 years ago, several hundred cave paintings capture at least 13 unique species of animals in earthy shades of black, umber, and ochre. The film marvels at early man's first forays into art and our enduring fascination with the natural world. This film is rated G (2010, 95 min.).

This film is part of Late Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art.
