Selma Hayek plays the title role in this film about the life of one of Mexico's most legendary artists, Frida Kahlo. As a young girl, Kahlo is faced with the debilitating effects of polio and a bus accident that left her bedridden. Interested in painting from a young age, she eventually becomes the protegĂ© and lover of artist Diego Rivera. Throughout their long and tumultuous relationship, Kahlo fights to find her place as an artist and to create a legacy in her own right. This film is rated R (2002, 118 min.).
