Selma Hayek plays the title role in this film about the life of one of Mexico's most legendary artists, Frida Kahlo. As a young girl, Kahlo is faced with the debilitating effects of polio and a bus accident that left her bedridden. Interested in painting from a young age, she eventually becomes the protegé and lover of artist Diego Rivera. Throughout their long and tumultuous relationship, Kahlo fights to find her place as an artist and to create a legacy in her own right. This film is rated R (2002, 118 min.).
This film is part of Late Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art.
