Text
Makers: Women Who Make America looks back on 50 years of women’s rights activism with archival footage and interviews with women who are trailblazers in their respective industries. Part one of this three-part documentary covers the publication of Betty Friedan’s The Feminine Mystique and its rallying effect on discontented housewives. In part two, we see how feminism of the early 1970s challenged the relationships between men and women and brought women’s issues to the forefront of public consciousness.
This film is part of Late Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art.
