Kick off the night with some jazz and zydeco from Louisiana vocalist Quiana Lynell. Lynell has graced the stage with such standout performers as Gregg Wright, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Herlin Riley, and Delfeayo Marsalis.
Quiana Lynell infuses her classical training with a gospel upbringing to perform a limitless repertoire. Graduating with a degree from the Louisiana State University College of Music and Dramatic Arts, Lynell currently tours, performing and giving clinics involving American standard music steeped in Louisiana culture. Lynell is the featured vocalist with Don Vappie and the Creole Jazz Serenaders and leads the jazz-blues band The Lush Life out of Baton Rouge. Her much-anticipated self-released EP has been well received by critics, and she is scheduled to make her fifth appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in 2016.
The Happy Hour Performance is part of Late Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art.
