Join DMA curator Anne Bromberg for a journey along the Silk Road, an ancient trade route that spread luxury goods, art, and ideas throughout Asia. Dr. Bromberg will share highlights from the new exhibition Asian Textiles: Art and Trade Along the Silk Road.
Drawn from the DMA's collection, Asian Textiles brings together fine examples of garments and ornamental hangings from Japan, China, Uzbekistan, India, and the Himalayas. The exhibition showcases a range of textile types and processes, from a Japanese fireman's coat to an Indian sari and a Chinese dragon robe.
This talk is part of Late Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art.
