Late Night Talk: Eliza Hamilton: The Extraordinary Life and Times of the Wife of Alexander Hamilton

Join author Tilar Mazzeo for a brief history of the life of Eliza Hamilton, the remarkable woman behind the famous founding father. From her pioneer upbringing to her philanthropic work after Alexander’s death, Mazzeo will discuss Eliza’s contributions to the American Revolution and the founding of the Republic and how her actions reflect the agency of women at the time. After the talk, the author will be sign copies of her book Eliza Hamilton: The Extraordinary Life and Times of the Wife of Alexander Hamilton in the DMA Store.

Dr. Mazzeo is the Clara C. Piper Associate Professor of English at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, and the author of numerous works of narrative nonfiction, including The Widow Clicquot, The Hotel on Place Vendôme, The Secret of Chanel No. 5, and Back Lane Wineries of Napa. Her books have been New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and Los Angeles Times bestsellers.
