Join Dr. madison moore for a talk about his new book Fabulous: The Rise of the Beautiful Eccentric. Part autobiography, part cultural analysis, Fabulous looks to ballroom culture, nightclubs, and street style to ask what it means to be fabulous and how eccentricity can be a political gesture for marginalized communities.
madison moore, Ph.D. (American Studies, Yale), is an artist-scholar, DJ, and Assistant Professor of Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University, and most recently a guest artist in the Yale School of Drama. He is currently at work on a new book project about club culture titled Dance Mania: A Manifesto for Queer Nightlife.
This talk is part of Late Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art.
