
Join us as we celebrate EarthX’s Half-Earth Day with the Texas premiere of The Way of the Rain – Hope for Earth: A Symphony for Our Planet concert film.
This beautiful and inspiring creation for orchestra, chorus, film, art, and spoken word was created and directed by Sibylle Szaggars Redford in collaboration with music composer Tim Janis and performance film artist Floyd Thomas McBee and was performed by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Youth Chorus with special in-person narration and spoken word by Robert Redford. The evening is presented in partnership with EarthX, The Way of the Rain, Inc, The Dallas Museum of Art, and the Dallas International Film Festival.
The evening celebrates the fourth anniversary of its original live performance, including the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Youth Choir recorded live at the Meyerson Symphony Hall.
The evening will feature special guests Sibylle Szaggars Redford, Founder and Artistic Director of The Way of the Rain, Inc.; Gregory Leon Baird, Managing Director of The Way of the Rain, Inc.; and Julien Benichou, conductor of the original performance, at a pre-cocktail party from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., with introductions following.
Created and directed by Sibylle Szaggars Redford, the work weaves together music by Tim Jani and performance film by Floyd Thomas McBee, and features Robert Redford’s final narration and spoken-word performance for The Way of the Rain in a celebration of our planet and a call to protect its future.
