Whether you're enjoying a staycation at home or visiting Dallas from out of town, we invite you to spend your Spring Break at the DMA! Every year, we offer free programming for kids and families, including drop-in art making, sensory play, story time in the galleries, and more.

Family Gallery Guides
11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Guest Services Desks
Pick up a kid-friendly guide and learn about selected works of art in the DMA's collection.
C3 Tower Takeover
11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Tower Gallery
Make your way up to Level 4 to explore our temporary Center of Creative Connections space. Make your own mini-sculpture, read a book, play with toys, and more!

Pop-Up Art Spot

Visit our cart for creative games and activities in the galleries.
En Plein Air Sketching
Noon–2:00 p.m., Fleischner Courtyard
En plein air is French for “outside.” Head to our outdoor courtyard for a sketching experience inspired by French Impressionist artists. In the event of inclement weather, this activity will be canceled.
Cut and Paste Studio
1:00–4:00 p.m., Tower Studio
Cut, arrange, layer, and paste! Drop by the Art Studio and “paint with scissors” to create a colorful paper cut-out collage inspired by artist Henri Matisse.
Everything Spring!
1:00–4:00 p.m., Founders Room
Stop and smell the roses! Celebrate springtime at our scent matching station, map out nature shapes at light tables, make a bouquet at our pretend flower shop, and more at these spring-inspired play stations.
Sensory Haven
1:00–4:00 p.m., Level M2
Need a place to take a break? Drop in throughout the day to relax and explore quiet activities. All ages are welcome.
Story Time Tour
2:00 p.m., Meet at the main Guest Services Desk
From tall tales and legends to daring adventures and fairy tales, every work of art has a story! Join DMA Education staff for an interactive story time themed around artworks in the Museum’s collection.
Celebrate the power of creativity and all the ways we "MAKE" in this fun-filled day of free activities for the entire family. Save the date for the first Saturday in November and make it a day at the DMA! Enjoy outdoor yoga, art making, and live music and dance performances, and have the chance to meet and make alongside local artists.
