Go van Gogh brings the wonders of the DMA to Pre-K through 6th grade students in your classroom, FREE OF CHARGE, through hour-long programs that inspire students to engage with works of art from our collection. All programs include hands-on experiences and art-making activities that provide opportunities for individual creative expression and are offered in English, Spanish, and Bilingual Spanish/English.
Go van Gogh programs are available for schools (private or public) within Dallas city limits or part of Dallas ISD, for grades Pre-K through 6th and Special Education.
Special Education Art Workshops are available March–May 2025 and will receive priority booking during those months.
The Go van Gogh Request Form for the 2024 FALL semester (September–December) will open on Monday, August 19, 2024.
The Go van Gogh Request Form for the 2025 SPRING semester (January–May) will open on Monday, November 4, 2024.

Go van Gogh programs are available for the 2024–2025 school year for any Dallas ISD campuses, as well as for schools (private or public) within Dallas city limits.
Classroom visits are available Tuesdays–Thursdays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Go van Gogh programs are available from Tuesday, September 17, 2024, to Thursday, May 15, 2025.

All programs are a full 60 minutes long. Please double check lunch schedules and testing dates before booking.
If booking multiple visits in one day, program times cannot overlap due to staff/volunteer scheduling. Classroom sizes cannot exceed more than 30 students.
A teacher must remain in the classroom at ALL times. If the teacher leaves the classroom, DMA staff and volunteers are required to leave the classroom as well.
Bird Buddies (Pre-K–1st Grade)
Fly in and let your imagination soar with our fun-filled program where we discover what makes birds so special! During this program, we’ll listen to bird calls, act like different birds, and read a delightful storybook about our feathered friends. After exploring beautiful bird-themed artworks from the DMA’s collection, we’ll let our creativity take flight as we make our very own bird buddy artworks. It’s sure to be a hoot!
Ocean Voyage (1st–3rd Grade)
Dive into this adventure-filled program where the ocean comes to life! We’ll explore the deep blue by meeting fascinating ocean creatures and their habitats. Get ready to swim like a fish, chomp like a shark, and glide like a stingray. After marveling at stunning ocean artworks from the DMA’s collection, students will create their very own ocean creature aquarium. It’s a fin-tastic adventure you won’t want to miss!
Story Weavers (3rd–5th Grade)
Join Story Weavers, where art and storytelling weave together in unexpected ways! In this program, students will explore mesmerizing works of art from the DMA’s collection that intertwine tales and textures. Students will draw their own story using yarn, coming together to create a vibrant quilt that tells their classroom story.
Embrace the Moment (4th–6th Grade)
Breathe in and breathe out. This reflective program is all about how art and mindfulness come together to balance fun and inner peace! We'll tune in to our emotions and live in the now as we explore inspiring artworks that guide our mindful adventures. Through playful exercises, we’ll become mindful masters of creativity. To top it off, we’ll craft a mindfulness art project that captures the joy of embracing every moment—it's art with heart!
Texan Like Me! (Pre-K–6th Grade)
Yeehaw! Saddle up for this program, where we’ll embark on a rootin-tootin' journey through the grand state of Texas! We’ll lasso our thoughts around the people, places, and things that make Texas super special. We’ll admire artwork that captures the heart of the Lone Star State and create our own masterpieces inspired by what we love most about Texas. Get ready to explore, create, and celebrate all things Texan!
Bon Appetit! (Special Education (FSL, TC, and ADL): Pre-K–6th Grade)
Welcome to a delicious program where we explore the wonderful world of food! Through a delightful song that will have us tapping our toes and a heartwarming storybook that will spark our imaginations, students will dive into the flavors, colors, and joy that food brings. Students will then have the opportunity to express their creativity through their own food-inspired artwork. Get ready to savor the artistic journey, where creativity and inclusion blend together like the perfect recipe for a delectable experience!

Go van Gogh programs are available free of charge for schools within Dallas city limits or part of Dallas ISD, grades Pre-K through 6th. We are in the process of revamping our offerings for schools outside of Dallas; if your school or district is interested in staying informed, email govangogh@dma.org.
How do I schedule a Go van Gogh visit to my school?
To schedule a visit, follow these four easy steps:
- Determine three possible dates for your visit, double-checking test dates, holidays, class change times, and lunch schedules. If scheduling for other teachers at your school, confirm dates and start times with them before submitting your request.
- Choose your program topic.
- Fill out the Go van Gogh Request Form at least four weeks before your requested program date.
- Check your email. A DMA Education staff member will contact you to confirm your reservation. If there are any questions about your request form, you will be contacted at the email or phone number provided.
What program topics are available this year?
Go van Gogh offers a variety of programs. Read more about this year's program offerings above. Each program is tailored to specific grade levels and aligns with corresponding curriculum and TEKS objectives. Only one program topic may be scheduled on a single day.
When are visits available?
All of our programs take place between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and may be scheduled Tuesday–Thursday from September 17th, 2024, to May 15, 2025. Special Education Art Workshops are available Tuesday–Thursday in the months of March, April, and May, and receive booking priority during those months.
How many classrooms can Go van Gogh visit at one time?
The number of classrooms we can visit in one morning varies by program type. We can visit four classrooms in a single morning with Pre-K through 6th grade programs, and one classroom with our Special Education program. If scheduling for more than three classes, please schedule half of your classes at 9:30 a.m. and the other half at 10:30 a.m.
Can we combine classrooms?
No. We are happy to visit additional classrooms on additional dates. Please submit a separate form for each classroom.
What does the DMA provide for Go van Gogh programs?
The DMA provides everything, including art-making supplies, in our vibrant Go van Gogh van! We kindly request at least one visitor parking spot for our van.
How should I prepare my classroom and students for their Go van Gogh program?
One week before your scheduled Go van Gogh program, additional confirmation materials will be sent to you to review and distribute to other scheduled teachers. If possible, arrange desks in groups of four to five students each. Teachers must remain in the classroom during the entire Go van Gogh program. If the teacher leaves the classroom, DMA staff and volunteers are required to leave the classroom as well.
What if I have a conflict with my program or need to cancel?
Programs cannot be shortened to accommodate conflicts such as lunch schedules or class time changes. If changes occur to your visit after you submitted your Go van Gogh Request Form, such as changed testing dates, number of classrooms, or number of students, email govangogh@dma.org at least one week before your program date.
